| Description | Today marks the transposition deadline for a set of key provisions under the revised Renewable Energy Directive, aimed at accelerating the deployment of renewable energy across multiple sectors of the EU economy. Agreed by co-legislators in 2023 and in force since 20 November 2023, the revised directive is a cornerstone of the EU’s climate and energy framework. Its overarching objective is to achieve a renewable energy share of at least 42.5% by 2030, with the ambition to reach 45%. |
