DescriptionThe Bratislava Mayor’s Climate Challenge is a city-led initiative uniting public and private actors to accelerate Bratislava’s transition toward climate neutrality and resilience. Launched in 2025 as part of the NetZeroCities Pilot Cities Programme, it engages companies to reduce energy consumption, increase renewable energy use, and implement sustainable business practices. In its pilot year, 10 companies managing 12 buildings (totaling 243,000 m²) aim to save around 3 GWh of energy and install 3,100 kWp of renewable capacity. The initiative fosters collaboration between the city and the private sector through a structured five-step process — from commitment and implementation to transparent reporting. By demonstrating measurable results and scalable solutions, the Climate Challenge positions Bratislava as a frontrunner in urban energy transition and corporate climate responsibility in Central Europe.
